About Life Therapy

                                                           Meet Kari

I am a clinical social worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers.  I am extremely passionate about mental health services, committed to helping individuals navigate their diagnoses and work from a harm-reduction model. I received a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University and have extensive experience in both Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

Apart from education, I have a wealth of direct counselling experience. I currently work in the mental health field, where I support children, parents, families, and groups through therapeutic counselling.  I have also practiced social work at both a hospital and educational setting.  In those roles, I provided crisis intervention, counselling, and case management to individuals and families struggling with mental health.  I am passionate about empowering our communities and have delivered workshops on topics such as LGBTQ inclusivity, gender equality, gender based violence, and dialectical behaviour therapy.

I provide compassionate and respectful support to all individuals and believe that each person has the ability to work towards their goals.  It is my goal to have you feel comfortable and moving at a pace that works for you.
